The best of complementary medicine, practiced with patience
At New Jersey Acupuncture & Wellness Center, the patient is the focus. You will be welcomed into a warm, quiet environment where we take the time to properly assess your symptoms and design a course of care for you alone.
We offer acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, medical massage, auricular medicine and Quantum Neurology from two offices — our main clinic on East Hanover Avenue in Morristown and a second office on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne. Patients come to us from across Morris, Passaic, Essex and Union Counties, and some travel from New York City.
Our practitioners, Ni-Fei Hsieh, L.Ac. and Cindy Hsieh Ren, MS, L.Ac., are licensed in New Jersey and New York and nationally board-certified by the NCCAOM. Between them they bring hospital training in China and Taiwan, certification in Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture and three generations of family tradition in Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture is one part of the larger system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which also includes herbal medicine, Qigong, Tui Na massage, gua sha, cupping and Eastern nutrition. Ancient Chinese physicians discovered that specific points on the surface of the body are related to internal function, connected by channels called meridians through which Qi — the body's vital energy, pronounced "chee" — flows.
When that flow is impaired, physical, mental or emotional symptoms appear. Stimulating carefully chosen points disperses the blockage and brings the body back into balance. In modern terms, acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system to release biochemicals into the brain, spinal cord and muscles, encouraging the body's own healing response.
- Hair-thin, sterile, single-use needles — disposed of immediately after each treatment
- 20–30 minutes of needling, often with heat lamp, electro-stimulation, cupping or massage
- Recognized by the World Health Organization for more than 40 conditions
One practice, a complete toolkit
Your plan may combine several of these therapies. We choose them for your condition — not by habit.
Trained in hospitals, shaped by family tradition
Ni-Fei Hsieh, L.Ac. holds a Master's degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and is licensed as an acupuncturist and massage therapist in New Jersey and New York and as an Oriental Medical Doctor in California. He also trained as a disciple of Dr. Chong-Kai Wen, one of Taiwan's most renowned acupuncturists.
Cindy Hsieh Ren, MS, L.Ac. is the third generation of Chinese medicine doctors in her family. Licensed in New York and New Jersey and NCCAOM board-certified, she trained clinically in Shanghai and Taiwan and volunteered for two years treating post-surgery, post-stroke and cancer patients at Gouverneur Hospital in New York.

Common questions
Where is New Jersey Acupuncture & Wellness Center located?
We have two offices: 255 E. Hanover Ave (rear entrance), Morristown, NJ 07960, phone (973) 998-8433; and 504 Hamburg Turnpike, Suite 201B, Wayne, NJ 07470, phone (973) 960-2582.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most patients feel very little. Our needles are about the thickness of a hair — 10 to 15 of them fit inside one hypodermic needle. You may feel a slight sensation on insertion, then a dull pressure or spreading feeling when the needle reaches the Qi.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on your condition. Recent or minor problems may need only a few visits; most patients complete between 4 and 12 treatments, and long-standing conditions can take longer. We will give you an honest estimate after your first assessment.
Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Many insurance plans cover acupuncture. If we are in network with your plan we verify your benefits and submit the claim for you. If we are out of network, we provide a bill you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
Ready to feel like yourself again?
Call the office nearest you to schedule. New patients should allow about 90 minutes for the first visit, which includes a full health history, pulse and tongue diagnosis and your first treatment.
