Two years ago I started fertility treatments due to poor egg quality and low ovarian reserve. My only option was aggressive medications and ongoing treatment to see if I would produce enough mature eggs to be considered for IVF. Month after month the medication only produced 1-2 mature follicles.

At my first visit I remember Ni-Fei's thoroughness in asking me questions related to my health so he had a full understanding of how my body was operating. He also asked me how I "feel" — I realized that my state of mind was just as important to him as the treatment itself.

For almost three months, three times a week, I visited Ni-Fei and I felt the changes in my body every day. I slept better, I felt better, and by month two I was already producing double the follicles I had prior. I had tried 3 rounds of IUI and 3 rounds of IVF at two separate fertility clinics before I came to see Dr. Hsieh. After consultation he agreed it wouldn't be easy for me to conceive, but that we might be able to improve my egg condition with acupuncture and herbal medicine — and that it would probably take at least six months of continuous treatment.

I had acupuncture three times a week for three months and then twice a week, and took prescribed Chinese herbs daily. After six months, with Dr. Hsieh's blessing, I decided to try IVF one more time. This time, I got pregnant! I continued acupuncture through the first trimester. Four months ago I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

All of the sacrifices I made during those six months of Chinese Medicine treatments were worth it!

After my daughter, I had a miscarriage, then could not get pregnant. IUI and IVF led to two more miscarriages. I was more pro-western medicine and a bit skeptical about Chinese Medicine, but this time western medicine couldn't help, so I decided to give it a try.

Ni-Fei was upfront that it could take a minimum of 4–6 months. I went in twice a week for 45-minute treatments and started a daily herbal decoction in month two. In the middle of month five, I decided to try naturally. I got pregnant — and it's going well at seven months. Thank you Ni-Fei for helping me!

I originally went to Ni-Fei in preparation for my embryo transfer after more than a year of fertility issues. He asked about my health, desired outcomes and expectations for treatment. I began sessions three times a week pre-transfer and continued until I was six weeks post-transfer. Ni-Fei also gave me herbal teas and recommendations to support my early pregnancy, and treatment helped with my first-trimester nausea and sinus/allergy issues.

I am now 37 weeks along with a healthy baby, and very grateful for all the support Ni-Fei provided my baby and me.

After three miscarriages, my recurrent-miscarriage doctor told us there was nothing wrong with my husband or me, and western medicine couldn't help. I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy on a Friday morning. The entire right side of my face was paralyzed — I couldn't even blink my eye, eating was difficult and drinking was nearly impossible. Six weeks after the onset of my symptoms, virtually all signs of my illness have been remedied. To look at me today, one would never know my face was paralyzed just a few short weeks ago.

I am terrified of needles and never had an interest in acupuncture, but when I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy 3.5 weeks before I was in a wedding, I was willing to try anything. The entire left side of my face was paralyzed. I was in the hospital a couple of days and on medications for over two weeks but saw no difference.

From the moment I contacted New Jersey Acupuncture & Wellness Center, I felt more at ease. Ni-Fei understood my fear of needles as well as my urgency to get better, explained the process thoroughly and even made time to see me that day. And the best part — I was all smiles on my friend's wedding day! The facility is clean and Ni-Fei truly cares.

I developed Bell's palsy in August of 2020. The entire left side of my face was paralyzed; it affected my speech, my smile, my ability to blink and close my eye, and it dulled my sense of taste. The Urgent Care physician told me to "look into acupuncture."

I noticed an improvement after my first treatment and went as many times per week as I could. It is an intense treatment — which Ni-Fei was honest about from the beginning — but seeing continued improvement gave me the will to keep going. I had 20 treatments in total and I have made a complete recovery. I have recommended him to three people, two of whom had Bell's palsy.

My first neurologist told me acupuncture wouldn't help with my condition. A second neurologist was open to it. I had already done three weeks of physical therapy without results — I couldn't close my eyelid properly and liquid leaked from my mouth when I drank.

After the first treatment with Dr. Ni-Fei, the water wasn't coming out of my mouth the way it was before. By the 6th treatment my face looked pretty much normal, and my neurologist was amazed. Thank you very much for restoring me so quickly!

It is now 29 days since my diagnosis and after 10 treatments I have more than 95% of my face functionality back. Along with acupuncture (the main treatment), I took Chinese herbal medicine and used moxibustion at home as advised by Dr. Hsieh. Treatment involved needles in my arms, legs and face, an infrared heat lamp and occasional bloodletting and cupping. It is very intense, but I give that intensity credit for my speedy recovery. My family had many questions and Dr. Hsieh was very patient and kind in addressing them.

My son developed Bell's palsy after Lyme disease. His eye was droopy and he couldn't smile properly. We came for treatment three times a week. During the first week the symptoms got a little worse — Ni-Fei warned us beforehand — but by the end of week two we saw significant improvement, especially around the eye. Today was my son's 18th and last treatment. His facial expression is back to normal. Thank you!

I came into Ni-Fei's clinic three days after my stroke, with slurred speech and right-side hemiplegia, sitting in a wheelchair. Growing up in Tianjin, China, I knew I needed acupuncture as soon and as frequently as possible for the best recovery. In 16 days I had 10 treatments. I can walk on my own now (slower than before), climb stairs without assistance and speak normally, if still a bit slowly.

Three months after my stroke, my speech and swallowing were affected — I had aphasia and dysphagia and a feeding tube. Dr. Ni-Fei made home visits, treating me five times a week for two weeks, and I was able to speak much better. After four more treatments, my doctor agreed to remove the tube and I was able to eat on my own safely. I'm very grateful for this change.

An ischemic stroke three years ago left me with hemiplegia. Even after more than a year of physical and occupational therapy and Botox injections, the right side of my body was still immobile and I used a wheelchair. Ni-Fei was upfront that he wasn't certain how much I could recover, and that treatment could take up to a year.

I went in three times a week for about five months, then twice a week for another four. Progress was gradual, but my aide, family, friends and I all noticed steady improvement. Today I move slowly, but I can stand and walk on my own with just the help of a walker. I am very thankful for this change!

This is one of the worst pains I have felt. Ni-Fei's approach was different from the doctor I saw before — he didn't put needles on my face or head at all, and used a bleeding technique. I received Ni-Fei Hsieh's name from my insurance company. I was suffering severe lower back and sciatic pain in my hip, buttocks, calf and ankle — at times quite debilitating — after physical therapy and prednisone. After 4 or 5 visits the pain subsided and has since disappeared from my leg, buttock and ankle. The back pain is now mild and I'm looking forward to being pain free.

I was about to go for back surgery when I started seeing Ni-Fei. After acupuncture twice a week in the beginning and then once a week, I cancelled my back surgery, and within 2–3 months I had no more pain. I have never felt better with the maintenance I receive.

I came to Ni-Fei with constant pain in my lower back and down my legs. For years I had epidurals, steroids, massage and chiropractic without ongoing relief, and I was considering surgery. I was diagnosed with three herniated discs, with numbness, tingling and throbbing pain rated 7–9 out of 10. Four months of physical therapy and medication brought little relief, and I had to stop training for triathlons. My doctor referred me to Ni-Fei. Two weeks into treatment my back started feeling a lot better; today I can barely feel the symptoms. I'm back to running and triathlons and my back never felt this strong.

I injured my neck and upper back snowboarding a year and a half ago. One morning I woke up with a completely stiff neck and shooting pain down my upper back — a 10 out of 10. Four visits (six days) later, the pain level is a 2/10, for an injury I had considered surgery for. I will promote Ni-Fei and acupuncture for life.

I came in with right shoulder pain through the scapula, neck, bicep and tricep. Besides the needles, a TENS unit was used and medical massage further loosened the muscles — I didn't know acupuncture involved these different treatments. By treatments three and four my shoulder improved within days, and by treatment five it was just muscle soreness. I now feel confident I can do yard work without pain.

I have chronic tendonitis in my left hand from 50 years of guitar playing and an old tool injury. After two cortisone shots I was told the next step would be hand surgery, which I wanted to avoid. Dr. Hsieh said he could give me relief but it might take 12 visits or so. After a few months of treatment my hand has almost no pain, I have full range of motion, and it appears I will not need surgery any time soon.

Out of nowhere, any time I bent my knee it felt like it was being stabbed. Ni-Fei worked on my knee and the next day the pain was gone. Five days later I left on a 20+ hour flight for vacation, completed a 20-mile bike tour and hiked — and never once thought about my knee. I also owe him for curing two-plus years of chronic sciatica and a pinched nerve in my shoulder.

My body responded very well to the treatments and I was feeling better quite quickly. After a few sessions my sciatic pain was completely gone and has remained so. We moved on to a pinched nerve in my ankle rated 10 out of 10 — again, after a few sessions it no longer affects me. I highly recommend Ni-Fei and Cindy.

I stand a lot for work and had bad foot pain. Physical therapy and home exercise for five months didn't help. Dr. Ni-Fei treated me and it helped a lot — I got better in seven treatments.

I had daily headaches following an accident for about a year and was not comfortable taking pain medication. Ni-Fei suggested acupuncture with electric stimulation and cupping. The relief from my chronic pain has been amazing. If you're considering acupuncture as an alternative to pain medication or injections, give it a chance — the results are definitely cumulative, so stay committed!

My migraines had gotten worse, 2–3 times a month, costing me days off work. I found the clinic through my Blue Cross plan. On the day of my appointment I felt a migraine coming and almost cancelled. When the treatment was done, my headache had subsided. After four weeks of twice-weekly treatment I had one mild episode, and now I come in for maintenance every two months. I only get an occasional mild headache, at most once a month.

I had weekly headaches for 20 years and took pills for high blood pressure and cholesterol. Acupuncture quickly took away my headache. By the second week my smoking cravings had substantially gone away. With daily herbs and my doctor's blessing I reduced my blood pressure medication; five months later I have been off it for two months, with readings around 125/85. I haven't touched a cigarette since my first month of treatment.

I first contacted Ni-Fei because of recurring migraines tied to my cycle. My periods became regular almost immediately. When I had a migraine during an appointment, he treated me for an hour and a half and it was gone — I've had debilitating migraines since I was fourteen and nothing had ever worked. He also treated a painful ovarian cyst and my frequent night-time urination. My energy came back; I can play with my children and exercise without getting exhausted.

Anxiety and panic attacks affected my life from morning to night — heart palpitations, insomnia, lethargy and constant worry. I didn't want to rely on medication. Ni-Fei made me feel relaxed and hopeful, and offered traditional herbal medicine along with acupuncture. I felt stronger after each treatment and the anxiety and panic slowly diminished. I am happy to say all the negative feelings and physical side effects are gone.

After multiple doctor visits and tests over 3.5 years, I had no mobility in my neck and suffered pain, anxiety, depression and insomnia. Pain medication made me vomit and muscle relaxants made me dizzier. Finally, after acupuncture, I can turn my head and move my neck. I have improvement everywhere — and no more medications, not even Tylenol.

Ni-Fei Hsieh is exceptionally knowledgeable in acupuncture and has helped me so much over just 2–3 months with things I had tried to manage in other ways to no avail. Even though it is a 30-minute ride, it was worth it!

Ni-Fei treated me before my medical school boards. It was an amazing way to de-stress before a big exam. Plus he's a nice guy, so that helps too!

I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, and the medication irritated my stomach because I also have IBS. The combination of acupuncture and herbs significantly helped. After about two months I started feeling myself again. My recent blood work no longer shows signs of hypothyroidism, my IBS symptoms are under control, and I can eat foods I couldn't before.

Dr. Hsieh gave me 10 acupuncture treatments. I am a Sjögren's patient, and he relieved my dry eyes, dry mouth and high blood pressure symptoms. This was the first time I learned the magic of acupuncture therapy. I strongly recommend Dr. Hsieh to my friends.

I was told right up front there was a 50/50 chance acupuncture could help my tinnitus, and I really appreciated the honesty. I have a phobia of needles, but these are much thinner — a little pinch, then you can't feel them. You lie back for about half an hour with a warm heat lamp and ocean sounds; I almost fell asleep. After the second or third treatment one layer of ringing went away altogether, and after six treatments I have days when the ringing stops for an hour or so.

Ni-Fei cleared up my headaches and neck pain in about six or seven sessions, and gave me exercises that continue to help. Later, after one session for an ovarian cyst, my ultrasound the following week showed it was completely gone. He has an excellent grounding in acupuncture and Chinese medicine — simple, traditional and effective.

I came for treatment for night-time urinary incontinence. It cleared up after a few visits, and it has been more than a month since I had a problem.

Really enjoyed my experience and have recommended treatment to a friend. My lockjaw has completely disappeared — after the second treatment I had very little pain or cracking in the jaw.
