A Complete Practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Each plan is built from the right combination of therapies for your condition — not a one-size-fits-all needle session.

In short: New Jersey Acupuncture & Wellness Center offers acupuncture, Zhu's scalp acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, Tui Na and medical massage, auricular medicine, Quantum Neurology and facial rejuvenation acupuncture at offices in Morristown and Wayne, NJ. Most courses of care run 4–12 treatments, with frequency set by your condition.

At our center, the patient is the focus. We take the time with each person to properly assess symptoms and determine the necessary course of treatment. Although it varies for each individual, expect anywhere between 4 and 12 treatments; how many times per week or month depends on your condition. Alongside treatment in the clinic, we provide herbal medicine, dietary recommendations and exercises that benefit your overall lifestyle.

How a Plan Comes Together

Combining therapies for better results

Each therapy reaches the body in a different way. Acupuncture regulates the nervous system and the flow of Qi; herbs work continuously between visits from the inside; cupping, gua sha and Tui Na release the muscles and fascia; moxibustion warms and strengthens. For many chronic conditions — infertility is a good example — the combination of herbs and acupuncture helps achieve the best result.

A typical follow-up treatment might include 20–30 minutes of needling under an infrared heat lamp, electro-stimulation on tight muscles, a few minutes of cupping or Tui Na, and an updated herbal prescription. On the next visit, depending on how you responded, the plan may change.

  • Electro-acupuncture (TENS): gentle current through needles to relax muscles and calm nerve pain
  • Infrared heat lamp: warmth during needling to relax tissue and support circulation
  • Bleeding (micro-bloodletting) technique: a classical method used selectively for acute headache, trigeminal neuralgia and facial paralysis
  • Home care: moxibustion, herbal teas, exercises and nutrition advice
